Dear Family & Friends,
Growing up here in
California with unlimited opportunities and security is a huge privilege and
blessing. Mom & Dad would remind us of this fact ALL THE TIME! Especially
when we left food on our plates J
But we only really
understood when we traveled to both urban & rural India and saw young kids
out of school, abused, neglected and forced into child labor. Born into poverty
and hardship, they never get the childhood we enjoy. Apart from missing education,
they also lack other basic rights like nutrition, health, and security, often
being forced to child labor and human trafficking. This was both scary and
heartbreaking for us to witness.
You know how we are taught, “When you see something,
SAY something?” I am taking it one step further and also try to do something in
my small way and hope to influence a few others too.
We students of Dana Hills High School have
come together to form the C.R.Y Club – a Child Rights & You Teen Chapter
here at school to raise awareness and funds to support underprivileged kids in
India and our own community.
On Sunday, Nov 3,
2019, we’re hosting a Walkathon & 5K/10K run at Laguna Niguel Regional Park
in Orange County to raise donations and funds that go directly
towards projects that restore basic rights to kids that need a little helping
hand.
Please, join us at the event by registering here https://events.cryamerica.org/events/cryocwalk2019/
and open your hearts to this cause and help us make a difference
in our small way. CRY America is a 501c3 non-profit organization and all
donations are tax-deductible.
If you can contribute to my fundraising goal for
this event, please do so. No amount is too small – every dollar makes a huge
difference.
Thank you so much!
