Nakshatra Bharathanatya Arangetram

NAKSHATRA's Kind Request: On the occasion of my Bharathanatyam arangetram (Indian classical dance solo performance), Your presence is the best present i can have. Nakshatra is 12 years old and will be attending Jeffrey Trail Middle School as a 7th Grader this fall.

Nakshatra has been learning Bharathanatyam under the guidance of Guru Kalaimamani Smt. Charulatha Jayaraman for the past 8 years. She takes pride in her association with Shrishti School of Performing Arts. Smt. Charulatha Jayaraman has shaped Nakshatra into the dancer she now is, by taking her passion to the next level in dancing. She has taught her discipline and dedication to dance. Nakshatra’s passion into dancing started in her very young ages being inspired from seeing her mother as a dancer. Her interest continued to grow when she accompanied her mother to dance classes and performances.

Nakshatra has also been learning Carnatic Music and Keyboard under the guidance of Guru Sri. Babu Parameswaran since she was 5. She has performed for several musical concerts representing Keerthana School of Arts and Music.

A perfectionist by nature, Nakshatra strives to achieve excellence through hard work and perseverance. Nakshatra has participated in Irvine Honor Choir for the past 2 years and represented IUSD in several performances at Segerstrom Center for the Arts. She was also selected to sing at Opera UCI presenting Puccini’s Suor Angelica at Irvine Barclay’s Theatre.

Nakshatra received the Presidential Educational Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence for her elementary education at her 6th Grade and several special recognitions in science fair. In the future, Nakshatra aspires to be a great artiste in addition to her chosen field of study.

She has been a proud student of Chinmaya Mission of Los Angeles where she learns the values of Hinduism and its culture.

She also learns Taekwondo and aspires to get a black belt.

Nakshatra is an avid reader. In her leisure time, she likes to surf, play volleyball and listen to music. She enjoys traveling to places. She has a passion for painting and has won several awards.

Nakshatra is grateful to all her Gurus for instilling in her a passion for music and dance. She is a hardworking, kind and soft-natured person who is passionate in whatever she does.

Nakshatra seeks your blessings and best wishes for her Arangetram. She expresses her heartfelt thanks to her parents, grandparents, younger brother and younger sister who have been very supportive.
