CRY Superstar 2024

February 4, 2024

CRY America is a 501c3 non-profit organization driven by its vision of a just world in which all children have equal opportunities to develop to their full potential and realize their dreams. We ensure that basic rights of education, healthcare and protection from exploitation and abuse are restored to underprivileged children, including street children, girl children; children bonded in labor, children of commercial sex workers, physically and mentally challenged children and children in institutions.

NGO for underpriviledged children

CRY America believes that:

Children are the most vulnerable segment of any society. Their situation provides the most stringent metric of a society’s health and a rallying point with the widest appeal across all parts of society.

Ensuring child rights is the most sustainable solution to the myriad social, economic and political issues confronting India. Sustainable change at the level of the community is only possible when communities themselves develop and implement solutions, cooperatively.

Non-profits when linked to each other and in coalition with business, government and media, can create a critical mass that achieves immense synergies and scale, and the strength to influence policy.

Very simply, we act as the link between (a) people like you who want to help underprivileged children and (b) the child in need, wherever she might be, in India or the USA. We do this by channelizing the concern, goodwill, time, money and skills of thousands of individuals, like you, towards child development projects run by committed grassroots projects.

Several years of working with children’s issues has taught CRY America that the “child rights approach” is the most effective way to ensure sustainable change. This is possible when children, their parents and their communities come together and are empowered about their rights and engage with their local government bodies to address issues.

We have witnessed in 2,395 communities that children are going to school and not to work, they are receiving regular health check- ups and issues of malnutrition, child marriage

and child labor are being addressed, families now have sustainable livelihoods, girls are getting the same opportunities as their brothers and government officials are implementing policies they are mandated to.

With the support of over 25,153 generous donors and 2,000 committed volunteers, CRY America has impacted the lives of 695,077 children living across 3,676 villages and slums through support to 73 Projects in India and USA. Do write or call us to know more about child rights or share your suggestions and comments. It’s the only way we’ll know how you feel about our work and the cause of children.
